What does the Counseling Bureau represent?
The Counseling Bureau represents the first specialized type of a counseling bureau that offers direct psycho – social support and treatment for all victims of domestic violence who are prepared to break the circle of violence and change their way of life.
It is a specialized type of assistance provided by professionals that lead the victim through the overall process, enhancing her independence in making the right decisions. The Counseling Bureau offers several types of help in the spheres of prevention, counseling and crisis or post-traumatic intervention.
What type of psychological help and advice is offered:
- Primary psychological help
- Emergency intervention for protection against violence
- Psychological help and support in circumstances of long-lasting exposure to violence, and
- Crisis intervention.
Who can turn to the Counseling Bureau?
Clients of the psychological Counseling Bureau are the women victims of domestic violence, as well as children who are secondary victims of violence.
The process of providing help and support is carried out by holding regular meetings on an individual basis or in groups arranged in advance.
Manner of work of the Counseling Bureau:
The Counseling Bureau works for three hours every working day (Monday – Friday).
The social worker is responsible for the initial reception and the appointment.
Following the initial reception and the appointment of the meeting, the domestic violence victims can have a meeting with the counselor therapist.
